The Girl Who Cried Wolf, by Elizabeth

Last year my friend was diagnosed with depression. It was kind of like the Boy Who Cried Wolf because she often lied about things that were easy to figure out.

So, because of this, my friends and I didn't believe her...

I can honestly say that I now know that my friend was not lying, and I feel awful about how I handled it...

Are you ready for your baaaand lesson? HA!

Band! Noob!

As a band student, I occasionally hear things like that. People sometimes pick on students in the music program, music classes, or shows.

Is it because they think that all we do is schoolwork and play our instrument? Do they think all band kids have no life?

"Less Homework" by Ellie M.

Lately, I have been noticing kids complaining about the large amount of homework they have to do--and the little time they have for it.

Stress levels of teens are on the rise. And do you know what the main cause it?

Pressure: homework and school-related activities mainly.

"Moving" by Elizabeth C

"Look around you. Where are you? Who are you with with?

I get it.

You are sitting in the same hard wooden chair you do every day. In the same classroom just waiting for the bell to ring.

Right now, you probably don't want to be here. And if you had to move, you woudnlt miss it. But honestly, have you ever even thought about it?

Moving isn't something any teenager like yourself wants to do.

I think the things we would all miss the most are our friends, and surprisingly they are too often taken for granted. You never stop to be thankful for them because it is all you know...until the move.

And the only reason you are not here to listen to me talk about myself is because I'm that person too. I take things for granted, just like the rest of us..."

"Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I believe that all students should have musical education in the school. For one thing, music helps the brain."

"9/11" by Laela D.

"Time is ticking and the building is still burning. There is no escape route in sight, with the exception of the window, and hundreds of people are cornered behind walls ablaze. It was viewed as catastrophe by many, but it turns out it demonstrated the strength of our nation instead..."
